Savannah Storm 155 Georgia Grizzlies 81


The Savannah Storm defeated the Georgia Grizzlies 155-81 at the Savannnah High School Gym Thursday afternoon at the Businessman Special game. The game schelduled to start at 4:30, was delayed almost an hour for the arrival of a couple of the Grizzlies's players-they wound up short handed with seven players.

The Storm used their fast break offense along with their tenacious full court pressure defense to wear down the Grizzlies.

Leading scorer for the Storm for the second consecutive game was Josh Walker with 35 points. Guard Ben Chisholm scored 25 points. Center Sherard Reddick had another stellar performance , with 19 points and a game high 14 rebounds.

The next Storm game is at Savannah High on January 8, 2011 against the Heartland Prowl.

Storm Home Thursday


The Savannah Storm return home Thursday(12-30-10) to play the Georgia Grizzlies with the Businessman Special game starting at 4:30pm at the Savannah High School Gym.

Savannah Storm General Manager, Ed Devita, announces that fans can get a Savannah Morning News newspaper on Thursday and look in the sports section for a coupon and bring the coupon to the game and get a General Admission ticket for only $5.oo.

Jacksonville Giants 133 Savannah Storm 108


The re-match game between the Jacksonville Giants and the Savannah Storm was played Sunday evening at the beautiful Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena. Giants won the game 133-108. The Storm played well and played good defense limiting the Giants to 133 points. Their first four games, Jacksonville averaged 163 points a game.

Leading scorer for the Storm was 6'-4" guard/forward Josh Walker who scored 27 points. Storm 6'-8" center, Sherard Reddick, had another outstanding game contributing 25 points and grabbing a game high 16 rebounds.

Brandon Russ, 6'-8" forward was co-leader in leading the Giants in scoring with 21 points(he made 9 field goals out of 10 attempts). Nick Wallery, 6'-7" forward also scored 21 points.

For the game, Jacksonville shot 73 free throws compaired to 34 free throws for the Storm. The Giants shot 46.8% from the field.

Playing his first game for Jacksonville was 7 foot center, Dakin Braddick, giving the team 3 players 7' or taller.

Storm Hit The Road


The Savannah Storm play their next game against the Jacksonville Giants on December 26, 2010 at the Veterans Memorial Arena. The rematch game starts at 7:00pm.

According to the Jacksonville Giants web site, the game on December 26th with the Storm-when fans buy any seat they will get one seat free. The price for the tickets range from $8 to $150(for floor seats just like "Jack" in LA. ).

The Jacksonville Giants are undefeated so far this season with a record of 4-0. The last game for the Giants was with Fayetteville Flight whom they beat 151-94.

Savannah Storm vs. Jacksonville Giants


Savannah Storm Head Basketball Coach, Eddie Concepcion, giving his players instruction during the first game with the Jacksonville Giants on December 12, 2010 at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena. The Storm returns to Jacksonville to play the Giants on December 26, 2010 with tip off at 7:00pm.

During the last meeting, I had the opportunity to meet Robin Timothy, Assistant General Manager at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena. Mrs. Timothy and the
staff at the arena do a great job to make sure the fans have an enjoyable experience at the beautiful arena.

Coach Concepcion reports the Storm(4-1) is ranked number 13th in the ABA.

Savannah Storm 107 Fayetteville Flight 99


The Savannah Storm beat the Fayetteville Flight 107 to 99 Saturday evening at the Savannah High School Gymnasium.

The Storm utilized their fast break offense to build a lead in the first quarter 36-19.

Leading scorer for the Storm was 6'-8" center, Sherard Reddick, who scored 31 points and grabbed a game high 18 rebounds. Leon Frazier, JR. scored 22 points, Josh Walker scored 18, and Xavier Blaine-Cruz added 17.

The Flight made several comeback attempts in the game to get close, but the Storm managed to pull away and win the game.

The next game for the Storm is Sunday(12-19-10) against the Seven City Knights starting at 3:00pm at Savannah High.

Busy Weekend for the Storm


The Savannah Storm practiced for two hours Wednesday evening at the Savannah High School Gym. The team is working hard getting ready for two home games this weekend.

The Storm will play the Fayetteville Flight from Fayetteville, North Carolina on Saturday. The game will start at 7pm and will be played at the Savannah High School Gymnasium.

Sunday basketball fans can watch the Storm play Seven City Knight, an afternoon game starting at 3:00pm at the Savannah High Gym.

Jacksonville Giants 151 Savannah Storm 90


The Savannah Storm played their first road game Sunday evening against the hot shooting Jacksonville Giants at Veterans Memorial Arena.

For the game the Storm was 34 for 89 shooting field goals for 38.2%; 5 for 30 shooting 3 point shots for 16.7%; and made 17 out of 33 free throws for 51.5.%

The Giants our rebounded the Storm 68 to 43.

Leading scorer for the Storm was Joshua Walker with 21 points and 6'-8" center Sherard Reddick added 17 points and collected a team high of 9 rebounds.

The Giants were led in scoring by 7 foot center Jermaine Bell who scored 27 followed by 6'-4" guard Edward Horton with 24 points.

Savannah Storm vs. Jacksonville Giants


Savannah Storm assistant coach, Patricia Huisinga instructs guard Xavier Blain-Cruz on how to run the press brake play. The team practiced three hours this morning(Saturday) at the Rec Center in Pooler in preparation for their first road game tomorrow evening. Tip off time Sunday is 7pm at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena.

The Jacksonville Giants(2-0) won their first two home games beating the San Francisco Rumble(they had 5 players) 182-124 and beating the traveling team from Miami, the Haiti Relief, 168-84.

Savannah Storm 133 Jacksonville UBal 109


The San Francisco Rumble was schelduled to play the Savannah Storm Monday at 6:30 at Savannah High School Gym, but the Rumble did not show. As a replacement team, the Jacksonville UBall team was called and seven players arrived to play the Storm with the game starting at 9:15.

The Storm full-court pressure and bench scoring proved to be too much for the Jacksonville team. The Storm bench scored 87 points compaired to 14 points scored by the Jacksonville bench.

Leading scorer for the Storm was Xavier Blain-Cruz who scored 23 and Bernard Dixon added 20. D. J. Henley and Josh Walker each grabbed 9 rebounds.

Brad Clark led Jacksonville in scoring with 31 points.

The announced attendance was 350.

Storm vs Rumble


Savannah Storm head coach Ed Concepcion and assistant coach Patricia Huiginga lead the players thru a 3 hour workout Sunday morning as they prepare for their home opener tomorrow night at 6:30 with the San Francisco Rumble at Savannah High School Gym.

The Rumble lost to the Jacksonville Giants Saturday night 182-124. San Francisco was only able to bring 5 players to the game. Jacksonville uitilized 3 point shooting, full-court press, and a fast break offense to rout the Rumble. San Francisco was led by Isaiah Sandoval who scored 33 points and garnered 15 rebounds. The crowd was estimated at 4,000 for the Jacksonville debut at Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena.

Storm Getting ready for Home Opener


The Savannah Storm practiced Saturday morning at the Recreational Center in Pooler. The team looked sharp during the three hour practice session.

Henley, and Mike Kelly. Not shown in the picture is Josh Reese who will dress for the game.

The San Francisco Rumble will be in town Monday evening to play the Storm at 6:30 at the Savannah High School Gym.

Storm Practice@Savannah High School


The Savannah Storm team practiced for 2 hours Thursday evening at the Savannah High School Gymnasium as they prepare for their opening game next week. The team worked on their offensive sets and also concentrated on defense. Players participated in shooting drills and scrimaged full court.

The game with the Columbus Life set for December 5th has been cancelled.

The Storm will open the season on Monday, December 6th, 2010 against the San Francisco Rumble, who are ranked as the 3rd best team in the ABA. All 16 Storm home games will be played at the Savannah High School Gym.
