The Jacksonville Giants defeated the Savannah Storm 150-126 Sunday afternoon at Savannnah High School.
At half time the Storm led 65-61. In the third quarter, the Giants outscored the Storm 45-24. Jacksonville bench outscored the Storm bench 83-61. Jacksonville made 48 out of 68 free throw attempts, while Savannah made 26 out of 38 free throw attempts.
Leading scorer for Savannah was D. J. Henley with 26 points. Leon Fraizer, Jr. scored 25 points and Xavier Blain-Cruz scored 24. The only double-double of the game was by Antoine Dublin with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Nick Wallery led Jacksonville in scoring with 25 points and Renoldo Norman scored 22. Seven foot center, Jermaine Bell added 19.
I had an opportunity after the game to talk with, Kevin Waters, head coach of the Jacksonville Giants, who praised the Storm. "It was a tough game. The Storm have a great team and a great coach. At half time we made some adjustments and came out playing with more intensity."
